The name came from a life-changing event involving our founder and MD Brian Kelly.

In the summer of 1989, Brian’s father accidentally burned their home to the ground. The family were left with nothing but the clothes they had on and the money in their pockets. From that day onwards it was known in the area as “The Melted House”.

Fortunately no one was hurt and the house was restored to its original condition shortly afterwards. The “Melted House” is still home for the Kelly family today.
